Total Hardness Test Kit

Hanna Total Water Hardness Test Kit HI3812 is made in Romania, and 100 tests per Box is a titration-based chemical test kit. It determines the total hardness concentration in two ranges: 0.0 to 30.0 mg/L and 0 to 300 mg/L. The HI3812 is supplied with all of the necessary reagents and equipment to perform the analysis. Water hardness has traditionally been defined as the capacity of water to dissolve soap. The ionic species in the water causing the precipitation were later found to be primarily calcium and magnesium. Therefore, water hardness is a quantitative measure of these ions in the water sample. It is also now known that certain other ion species, such as iron, zinc, and manganese, contribute to water hardness. The measure and subsequent control of water hardness are essential to prevent scaling and clogging in water pipes. The HI 3812 test kit tests the hardness level as mg/L (ppm) calcium carbonate, via an EDTA (ethylene-diamine-tetraacetic acid) titration. Supplied by Padma Scientific Co.
